What is Acupuncture?

acupuncture meridiansAcupuncture works by balancing Qi (pronounced chee) - your vital energy or life force. The universal laws of nature govern the human body as well as the world around us. Qi flows through your body in pathways called meridians. Qi flows through your body in much the same way streams, rivers and oceans flow on earth. When Qi is flowing smoothly, there is wellness, balance, and harmony. When Qi is not flowing smoothly, there may be symptoms of pain and disease.

The science of acupuncture in China was documented over three thousand years ago. There is also evidence that people migrated from Africa thousands of years before and shared the secrets of a similar healing system. That means that this method of healing has been successfully used to maintain health for milennia.
